shipping information
The bulk of our customer shipments are handled by the third party freight consolidator CH Robinson. www.chrobinson.com In our experience they are usually able to provide the most cost effective service and we have had almost no instances of transit damage. Other than the framed tanks our products are shipped boxed for protection. Check the boxes for damage before signing for the goods. Note any damage on the truckerʼs documentation and refuse delivery of anything significantly damaged.
Most shipments travel direct from the consolidation warehouse to their destination, avoiding in transit transfers and handling. This is the best way to get goods to you in good condition but is not always possible. If your delivery address is in a location inaccessible to a 53 ft tractor trailer then other arrangements will be necessary. This can involve smaller local delivery carriers or arranging a drop at a nearby location. Please advise of any potential delivery issues related to your location when ordering.
The 30 gallon tank was specifically designed to fit within the UPS system without a surcharge and is shipped that way unless ordered in multiples or with other tanks. They also fit inside most of our wide mouth “Dexter” series tanks for shipping purposes.
Trucking costs are based upon size and weight to a given destination. For our products the size rather than weight determines the shipping charge. Truck space is sold in units usually referred to as a Pallet space and is 50 in. x 48 in. footprint and up to 109 in. high. Our tank descriptions include the pallet space required for shipping. We always endeavor to pack your order into the smallest number of pallet spaces possible to minimize shipping cost. Recently designed tanks have all been configured to pack efficiently into trucks or overseas shipping containers. For some of these tanks we offer packages that maximize the number of tanks on a pallet and include a volume discount and shipping allowance.
